Summer Art Workshop Classes
|
Paint Your Pick $25 per couple
Choose a favorite rock or piece of driftwood and transform it into a beautiful work of art with guidance from a talented local artisan. You’ll create a stunning scene featuring the northern lights glowing above pine trees in the foreground. Each participant will complete two custom pieces of their own design. All paints, step-by-step instruction, and wood or rocks (if you don’t bring your own) will be provided. |
|
Wire Wrapped Treasures $45 per couple
Design and create 3–4 unique pieces of wire-wrapped art per person using treasures found on the beach or other meaningful materials. Craft beautiful stone pendants, keychains, and more. Want to make matching earrings? Earring materials can be added to allow both artisans to create a unique pair ($15 per couple). The artist will provide all necessary supplies, including wire, embellishments (beads, charms, fiber), and stones if needed for your creations. |

Corrugated Metal "U.P." Wall Hanging $50 per couple
Create a one-of-a-kind wall hanging inspired by Michigan’s beloved Upper Peninsula (U.P.). Paint the northern lights, a peaceful waterfront, a sandy beach, or a wooded landscape using acrylics on a two-foot by one-foot piece of corrugated metal, cut to resemble the iconic U.P. shape. The artist will provide all materials, including the custom-cut metal, paints, step-by-step instruction, and hanging wire—everything you need to complete your rustic masterpiece. |
|
Two Canvases, One Creation $40 per couple
Create two individual paintings that come together as one beautifully connected work of art. In this synchronized couples class, you’ll focus on a shared horizon and collaborate by swapping canvases once—or multiple times—to contribute to each other’s piece. Choose between an acrylic painting base or a collage-style foundation to bring your vision to life. Canvas sizes vary by design (11x14, 16x20, or 10x10). This project can also be completed as an individual (non-paired) piece if preferred. |

Pamela Hecht
[email protected] 906.231.9258 I was born/raised in northwest Wisconsin. My husband, Steve and I moved to The Keweenaw over 26 years ago permanently after visiting/vacationing up here for 14+ years - We settled in Calumet for the love of a simple lifestyle. I gathered all my artist talents from my mother, grandmothers and sister over the years growing up. I always told myself when I would watch them create, I can’t do that! Then one day I said “I can do that” and I have never looked back. I love many styles of mediums: acrylics, watercolor, alcohol inks, mixed media, paper arts, sculpturing and metal jewelry work with stones. My greatest love & satisfaction is to teach and inspire through artwork. |
