Isle Royale Excursions
Isle Royale is not only a treasured National Park, it is also an untouched island hosting the most natural of habitats. It is located in Keweenaw County, making this county the largest in the State. It lies 48.1 miles off the beach at the Castle (only visible on clear evenings from higher vantage points). Beth has been travelling to Isle Royale National Park since 1998. and has become an expert at the trail system, natural landmarks, travel options, and overall preparedness for the unusual and beautiful terrain only found in this remote location. Guests traveling to the park should know that there are very limited resources for things such as first aid, supplies, and food. We can't stress REMOTE and UNDEVELOPED enough. Overnight trips should be reserved for advanced backpackers only. Beth's tip: Isle Royale is her favorite because it is BEAR-FREE!
