The History of the Keweenaw Castle Resort
The family owned and operated Keweenaw Castle Resort, located on lot #2 of the Seven Mile Point Community subdivision, was originally built as a vacation home for a family out of Wisconsin. It was clear in the drawings and samples they left behind that they put their heart and soul into designing the perfect vacation property for themselves and their family. The craftsmanship, custom woodwork, and attention to detail in this structure is second to none.
Being used only on occasion since it's completion in 2006, the structure was in excellent condition when Keith and Nancy DeForge purchased it and it's furnishings in December of 2018. Originally slated to be their primary residence only, Nancy soon realized she could accomplish her lifelong dream of hosting guests in this picture-perfect environment by sharing the left wing of the home with vacationing couples, friends, and sometimes entire families or corporate retreats. After a few trial runs that winter, the suites were named, rooms were equipped to meet guests needs, and her rental website went live in May 2019.
The future looks bright for the castle. Nancy will be able to retire from a career education in December of 2024, when she plans to dedicate herself to running the resort and offer even more personalized services at that time. She is continually adding fine touches to enhance her guests' stay and is always open to special requests. She especially loves to dote on couples celebrating memorable occasions :)
Looking forward to developing a friendship with you soon!
